Barbican 40th Birthday - Songs in the Key of London
It was heaven to perform at the Barbican’s Songs in the Key of London for the centre’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
A beautiful evening celebrating the city, ending in a moving tribute to Ukraine in Loudon Wainwright III’s A Pretty Good Day, performed by Boo Hewerdine.
I loved dueting with Kathryn Williams on Waterloo Sunset. Having begged to sing ‘Lalala’ on the first verse, I entered on the wrong note. I had one job! Nobody noticed.
And I got to tell my Nick Cave in West London story, before singing Brompton Oratory.
Also, reviews are in, I sing like a seal. Not Seal, a seal.
